House Domitia hailed from Lapis Manalis, such as many traditional Garlean families whose story was marked by the practice of reaping. After their occupation became outlawed, they were forced to move elsewhere in search of work.Many ended up in Regio Urbanissima, such as Cato dus Domitia, who decided to "reap" taxes instead. Married to Diana bas Florus, both had only two daughters, Sabina and Julia.Despite adopting a new way of life to show themselves as proud Garlean citizens, there was utter dissatisfaction within their traditional house. Many became Populares, not from the wish of seeing a better and progressive Garlemald, but out of discontent towards Emperor Solus.At young age, during some of House Domitia's "vacations" in Lapis Manalis, she met Scaramuccia for the first time. That was what she was trained for so long before. A pact was formed, pushed by her grandparents, despite refusing to use their powers. Too much of a price, she thought.Julia was, since her early years, someone considerably aloof. Always refusing to get entangled in her family's politics regarding her homeland's situation and, perhaps, a tad bothered by how they'd wish to control her.
While being pushing around like a puppet to make them proud, she was forced to get engaged to a higher status man, Aetius lux Quintina. The final straw to fall over her shoulders, as she decided not to be dragged around by House Domitia anymore.Becoming a defector, she traveled South, being found by Aetius halfway Corvosi lands. For the first time, Scaramuccia was called and a sacrifice was offered. A finger for a head, albeit the head wasn't hers.Aetius was gone and she wondered if Garlemald went after him. It wasn't her fault, she'd claim, for "Julia bas Domitia" left Garlemald before he went missing.As Jane Dorne, she strides through sunny lands after spending some time in Gridania, studying the plants she only saw in books before.A skilled woman with a gardener's scythe, nine swift fingers, her forehead always covered by a good amount of hair and some hats to protect her from, of course, the sunlight. What else could it be?Jane lives by herself and doesn't trade many words with strangers. Sometimes, she cooks feasts for herself and for a mysterious guest, whose shadows are under control while fed by a banquet.
